Following the announcement by the government on Sunday 10th May and a press release by the Angling trust it would appear thankfully that in principle angling is to be allowed in England from Wednesday 13th May it does not however mean that all angling clubs will be in a position to open from that date. As a responsible Charitable Trust we are now in a position of consultation and guidance with the Angling trust and our insurers to ensure that any conditions set by them are met and we can fully comply to ensure our insurance is safe and valid for the fishery to reopen. The Angling Trust has issued all fisheries guidelines by which they expect fisheries to phase in their reopening, again these need to be fully considered and where practicable implemented to ensure the fishery is operating under the guidelines which the government expects all businesses to comply.
It is to be remembered that there are strict social distancing measures and limitations placed on all business operating at this time and fisheries will be no different, so we trust you will be patient and allow us time to understand the requirements this announcement places upon us to provide a safe and secure fishery for you once we reopen which looks a much closer prospect. While I’m sure our members will have many questions which we are more than happy to try and answer all we ask is please be understanding as I can assure you we will intend to reopen the fishery as soon as we can safely and sensibly do so within the guidelines set for us.
